Q: Electrical Connectors for 87 Mazda RX7?
Looking for Fuel Injector electrical connectors for 87 Mazda RX7 13B w/o turbo. Does anyone know who the original supplier was to Mazda?
Mine are broken. I found a partial match with Motorcraft, however, I was trying to run down the originals. My Mazda dealer does not carry them.
A: There are low impedance connectors and high impedance connectors. I believe yours are high impedance. The nice thing for you is that any off of a Mazda engined car should work. This includes some Fords. I know the ones off of a first generation Miata will work. Just stay with ones from 95 on down. Many of the toyota connectors if the same years will work too.
But the solution that I would think about is getting a used fuel injector harness.
Found a kit at e-bay that should work.
Q: what is better to get Svt mustang Cobra or Mazda rx7 or mustang Mach 1?
A: Cobra's can be lots of fun - if you like going in a straight line. An RX7 is a lot more fun in the curves. The mustang is easier and cheaper to maintain (you can order every part for that motor at a local NAPA).
They are both fun cars. Personally, I'd go with the mustang because they are really easy to make very fast. The RX7s require more work. Plus, the N/A RX7s are slow. That can be remedied with a nice single-turbo setup tho.

Q: what is the largest engine I can put into a mazda rx7 1980-81 with the lease modifications?
how would i do this without changing my front suspension
A: with a few modifications to it you can put a 350 Chevy engine in it,i know because i have done that to a Rx-7,and a Mazda 626,and both took a little work but they did run good, there's modifications to do to any car if you change from the original engine, there's no getting around that ,good luck with it.
Q: Where can i buy a used Mazda RX7 in Pennsylvania.?
When i say where i want a good reliable used dealership that u know has or gets them+ i am only looking for a 1990 model and up
A: Go to www.autotraders.com
Just follow its instructions, that car site is a lot safer to use then any other car sites.
Q: a 13b for my 86 mazda Rx7?
I have a 86 mazda Rx7 and it need a new engine. Does anyone know where i can get a 13b non- turbo for cheap $500-$1000
Thanks a lot
A: If you're lucky and all you need is new side and apex seals then you should be able to get yours rebuilt for around that. Check with a local rotary specialist shop.
If you have to buy a rebuilt engine it will likely be more than your budget, say $1500-$2000. Don't even think of just buying a used engine as it will very likely require a rebuild, too.
Q: is the 3.5L Mopar engine easy to put in the 1987 mazda rx7?
is it easy to put this engine in the rx7 and do I have to do a lot of modifications to it?
A: LOTS...It would be much more rewarding to put in a 5.0 Ford..
Q: Mazda RX7??
I am about to get a mazda rx7 93' rs model, without an engine, with a fairly good price, i found a new engine to fit in...!
I know the car can prove problematic!! Anything i need to know? in particular please, thanks.
A: The FD's ('93 - '95) can be very finnicky in stock form. But there's a lot of mods that can be done to make it more reliable. The stock motor setup is very complex with the dual sequential turbo system and all the strange emissions controls and such.
Check out www.rx7club.com and look in the 3rd gen tech section to get an idea of things you can do, there's stickies at the top with tech details, and search reliability mods to get an idea of what you can do with them.
Once you get an idea of the common little issues to look for, you can quickly identify any problems before they cause a bigger problem, and it'll be a great car. Those 3rd gens handle like they're on rails, they're a dream to drive. I've owned 12 RX-7's (one 3rd gen, and around 5 or 6 2nd gens, and the same number of 1st gens)
Q: How much horsepower does the stock 94 mazda rx7 have ?
A: 255 hp
Q: what culd be some reasons why my 86 mazda rx7 will not start?
A: Very simple answer. Wankel rotory engine in your 86 RX7 has no compression....or very low. Not enough to run. I would expect something. Try shooting some starting fluid in the intake. If it doesn't fire, shoot flame, or something, then there is no spark. At which point you will want to troubleshoot the ignition system. If it does fire, try feeding it fuel to keep it running. That would indicate a problem in the fuel system. Take a compression reading to see if it's close to 100 pounds......when it's not running...disconnect the coil or ignition wire if you like. My fear is that you'll only see about 50 psi on all combustion chambers because I expect the running cylinder to have excessive wear. Just the nature of the beast on a rotory engine. Good luck, hope I'm wrong.
Q: What Does C1 And C2 Mean For A Mazda RX7 Does It Mean THe Year Or Somthing?
no i didnt see it on the engine i ask sumbody and the said like c1 is 1993-1994 and c2 is 1994-1995 for a mazda rx7
A: your probably talking about the generations of the mazda rx-7....the 1st gen. rx-7 would be from 1978-1985 the 2nd gen. would be 1986-1992 (best one to customize for me) and the 3rd gen. the last rx-7 made would be 1993-2002 (best look of the rx-7's in my view)
Q: Hello im trying to find a website witch is free that can give me info on a problem with my car mazda rx7?
my car starts easy the first start of the day then it floods out after it is worm
A: I wish there was such a site. That would be nice, but for an accurate diagnosis you will probably need to take it in to either a dealer or mechanic. Good Luck.
Q: am i able to import a Mazda RX7 into australia and use it as a daily driver?
A: RX7's have been brought in before, but the Jap version would have to have several $K spent upgrading it to oz standards-it's unlikely to be cost effective. If would have to have all OEM Oz certified upgrades done at pre-license inspection. BTW that's a 4 barrel carb, and the rotary is a guzzler, but if you can afford it, I guess I can only complain about your using more than your fair share of a fast dwindling & essential energy supply.
Q: Is the mazda rx7 1.3 or what ?
im looking to buy a mazda rx7 but i just wanna know is it a 1.3l or not because every insurance company i have looked at says its a 2.6 or 2.3 so what actually is it :|
A: The most common rotary engine is technically rated as a 1.3 liter. They are part of the 13B series and have been around for many years. Mazda has produced a couple other sizes in its 2-rotor design, but the 13B has been the standard for over 20 years.
The 1.3L rating is a bit of a misnomer, though. You can't rate a rotary the same as a piston engine.
In a piston engine they rate the volume of the cylinders during one full revolution of the crankshaft. This gives each cylinder 1 full sweep of its volume.
In a rotary, one full sweep of the 2 rotors volume is actually 3.9L, but that single sweep actually turns the crankshaft (or eccentric shaft in the case of a rotary) 3 full revolutions. So Mazda divides this by 1/3 to convert the swept displacement volume to 1 crankshaft revolution...or 1.3L.
The reason that rotary's are so powerful for their size is they have twice the combustion events per revolution than a piston engine, so you're actually getting the same power output to a 2.6L engine. This may be why your insurance company is rating it as a 2.6 liter motor.
